Dear Parents,

Last year at this time I wrote you to introduce myself and to share my hopes for the school year ahead. One of my goals was to meet you so that we could work together for the success of St. Mary's School. Much to my surprise a whole year has passed since that first letter. Where has the time gone?

This past year has been marked by several areas of progress at St. Mary's. Early last summer, Jose Arden joined our staff as custodian. Many of you have commented how the school interior shines thanks to his work. The fall months saw an increase in enrollment along with the completion of our hard wired network expansion to every classroom and staff room in the building. This enables students and teachers in each classroom to have access to the network without having to leave the room to work in another area. The science program is already using new textbooks while renovation of the science lab is scheduled for completion in September. We have already ordered supplies and furniture for the renovated lab that will include student workstations and instrument storage cabinets.

To look back at an academic year of success is one thing but, to look back over fifty years of a school's legacy is quite another. St. Mary's can be proud of its half century of academic excellence in Catholic Education and I am pleased to be a part of this exceptional school as it begins its next half-century. This is an outstanding school with a spirited group of parents who contribute unselfishly of their time and efforts to create a faith filled environment for their children. I look forward to knowing and working together with more of you as we continue to follow in the footsteps of those who helped establish the proud tradition of St. Mary's School.

In conclusion, I wish to thank those who organized and participated in so many activities during this past year. Whether the event raised funds for the school or provided fun for the students, nothing would have succeeded without the dedicated teamwork of so many parents who cared to give of their time and talents. It is the devotion of parents like you who helped make the past fifty years possible and will make the next fifty years a reality. The past fifty years were not always easy ones and the next fifty will have their trials as well. We will succeed as we always have, by asking Our Lord to walk with us. With Him along the way we cannot help but succeed.

God bless you,

Monsignor Clancy
